Rob Young, OD
Originally from the center of Missouri, Dr. Young graduated from Avila College in Kansas City, where he earned a minor in x-ray science. He was an X-ray specialist in Kansas City for seven years, and also led a CAT scan that looked after rural hospitals in Kansas. After opting for optometry as a career, he attended Pacific College of Optometry at Forest Grove, Oregon. While doing his doctorate at Pacific, Dr. Young senior teaching assistant for the physiological optics course and member of the Phi Theta Upsilon Optometric Society. Dr. Young is a member of the Oregon Optometric Association, Treasurer of 1994 and 1995 President of the Willamette Optometric Society.
Eric Knutson, OD
Dr. Eric Knutson was born and raised in Iowa and attended St. Olaf College for his undergraduate degree. In 1967 he received his doctorate in optometry from Pacific University. He returned to Iowa and practiced with his father for two years. He then spent two years as an optometrist of the US Navy in Washington DC. After the navy he came to Oregon to become partner of Dr. Robert Holcomb to become Valley Eye Care. After Dr. Holcomb had been training together for 21 years, he retired and dr. Young entered the practice 2 years later.
Dr. Knutson is a member of the American Optometric Association and was a member of the board of its Political Action Committee and its national charity VisionUSA. He is also a member of the Oregon Optometric Physicians Association and was its president from 1982-1983. He was voted optician of the year in 1987 and 1994. Dr. Knutson has served as Vision Adviser to the OSU Athletic Division since 1976 and has been a board member in local groups such as Rotary, the Sister Cities Association, the Children's Farm Home, and the Benton County Historical Society. In Ecuador in the early 1990s he was a member of three different teams for eye care missions. In his free time he enjoys fishing, playing golf, sailing and reading mystery novels. Dr. Knutson has more free time to enjoy these activities since retiring in 2013.
